Sally Ride: the powerhouse who paved way for other women

At the time of 19 8318 June Sally Ride was the first ever woman who was going into space. She was the first ever woman who survived the gruesome training of NASA and lots of tests. Before all of these turtles there was another which she needed to cross. That was the scrutiny of the public as well as the media platforms.

Whenever Sally ride and other women astronauts in her group did not want any kind of attention to put themselves in the spotlight but after five years and with lots of behind the scene rules on the emission control and the international space station these women as well as the solidified was taken as the crew member For her mission in which she would write in the Challenger shuttle in 1983. This was a game changer for Sally ride.

No one was looking how capable she was; only she was taken as a woman who would take tampons and makeup kits. NASA itself suggested to her that she should take a hundred tampons for a mission which was longer than a week.

They even made a make up kit for her so she can take it to the space with her however she did not take any of these things. The media also bombarded her with stupid questions like if she was taking any kind of make up onto the space. They did not care if she was prepared for the deployment or how she was gonna handle the satellites.

We can understand how hard it was for her to take her first flight. The deployment was a six day long vision mission. Fortunately, this mission was a success. The deployment landed on the Air Force Base of Edwards on 24 June 1983. After this huge success she took her second mission which was an eight day long space mission in 1984. Sally ride even took her third flight but because the Challenger was nowhere to be found, she did not take that third right? It was cancelled.

After that she worked for NASA for a really long time. It was 1989 when she decided to retire from NASA. She became a professor at the University of California. Where she was teaching space and physics. After that, she created her company with the name of Sally right science which was designated to make the girls and women empowered in the careers that were using the stem education.

While she was working, she broke barriers in real time. At the time of 61 years old she died because she got pancreatic cancer. After her death her legacy still lives on.
